Last reviewed October 2026
- What it is
- An application made with the issuing body on your behalf for a statutory document you do not yet hold, and the certificate uploaded to your vault when it is issued.
- Who it is for
- New firms, firms moving into public tenders for the first time, and firms a tender analysis has shown to be missing a document.
- How it is paid
- Quoted before you pay: our fee and the government charges listed separately; paid by M-Pesa.
- Turnaround
- Depends on the issuing body; the quote states what we expect and the certificate arrives in the vault when issued.
- Delivered by
- Tendakazi's statutory desk.
What the service covers
Most tenders in Kenya ask for the same core documents at preliminary evaluation: a certificate of incorporation, a CR12, a KRA PIN certificate and a Tax Compliance Certificate, a county Single Business Permit, NSSF and SHA compliance, and depending on the sector an AGPO certificate, an NCA registration or a professional body's practising certificate. A firm missing one cannot pass the first stage, whatever its price.
We make the application with the issuing body: the Business Registration Service through eCitizen, KRA through iTax, agpo.go.ke, the National Construction Authority, the county, NSSF and SHA, and the professional bodies. We also handle NCA class upgrades, ISO 9001 readiness, KEBS marks, NEMA licences and supplier registration on the government e-procurement system.
When you need it
- The vault shows a core document as missing
- A tender analysis lists a registration as a blocker
- A tender is reserved under AGPO and your firm qualifies but holds no certificate
- A contract is bigger than your NCA class allows
What we need from you
It varies by document. Company registration needs proposed names, directors' identity documents and KRA PINs and the shareholding; AGPO needs a CR12 showing ownership by the category; NCA needs technical staff, equipment and bank statements. When you order, the form lists what the issuer usually needs for the document you choose, and the officer handling the task asks for anything else.
How it works, step by step
- From the vault, choose Register for it next to the missing document, or order from the services page.
- We quote: our fee and the government charges, itemised. You pay by M-Pesa.
- A statutory officer is assigned and you are told who; the task appears on your desk with its checklist.
- The officer applies with the issuing body and asks you for anything outstanding.
- When the certificate is issued it is uploaded to your vault, with its expiry, and the reminders start.
What it costs
Every registration is quoted before you pay, with the government fee shown as a disbursement separate from our work. Fees set by the issuing bodies change; the quote carries the current figure, and anything the issuer charges in addition is passed on at cost.
Mistakes it prevents
- Applying for AGPO with a CR12 that does not show the required ownership
- Registering with NCA in a category that does not cover the works you bid for
- A company registered with a name or objects that do not match the trade
- Starting a registration after the tender notice, when the issuing body cannot deliver before closing
How it fits the rest of Tendakazi
Registrations close the gaps the vault and the analysis report expose. The certificate lands in the vault with its validity, the expiry reminders take over, and renewals are a separate service when the time comes.
Questions
Which documents can you register me for?
Company registration, CR12, KRA PIN and Tax Compliance Certificate, AGPO, NCA registration and class upgrades, county business permit, NSSF and SHA employer registration, professional bodies such as EBK and BORAQS, NEMA licences, KEBS marks, ISO 9001 readiness and e-procurement supplier registration.
Do I pay the government fee to you?
It is listed on the quote as a disbursement and paid with the rest by M-Pesa; we pay the issuer and keep the receipt on your task.
Can you do it before a tender closes?
It depends on the issuing body's timing; check the tender's closing date against what the quote says we expect, and start early.
Will I see progress?
Yes. The task on your desk shows its checklist, the officer handling it and every update.
