- What it is
- Printing and binding of the original and copies as the tender instructs, sealed and labelled envelopes, and a timed courier to the tender box with proof of delivery.
- Who it is for
- Any firm submitting a physical bid, especially outside its own town or against a morning deadline.
- How it is paid
- Quoted per job (pages, copies, binding, distance), paid by M-Pesa; part of a bid package.
- Turnaround
- Timed back from the closing minute on the quote; pickup and delivery windows are stated.
- Delivered by
- Tendakazi's print desk and couriers.
What the service covers
A physical bid in Kenya is usually an original and one or two copies, each paginated and serialised, bound as the instructions to tenderers specify (spiral, comb, thermal or hardcover), marked ORIGINAL and COPY, placed in a sealed envelope labelled with the tender number and title, and dropped into the tender box before the closing minute. The stamped receipt from the procuring entity is your proof.
We print from the compiled pack, bind it as instructed, seal and label the envelopes, and courier them to the box. The courier's position is visible from your desk until the receipt is scanned into your bid.
When you need it
- The tender box is in another county, or across Nairobi on a morning when traffic decides
- The tender asks for a binding method your office cannot produce
- You want a photograph at the box and a receipt in your bid as evidence
- Several bids close on the same morning
What we need from you
- The finished pack, compiled by us or uploaded by you as print-ready files
- The tender's submission instructions: copies, binding, envelope labelling, box location and closing time
- Who may be contacted on the day if the box has moved or the entity asks a question
How it works, step by step
- Request printing and delivery from the bid page; we quote with pickup and delivery windows.
- We print the original and copies and bind them as instructed.
- Envelopes are sealed and labelled from the tender's wording, and photographed.
- The courier collects, and you follow the position on the map.
- At the box the courier photographs the drop and obtains the stamped receipt.
- The receipt and photographs are attached to your bid.
What it costs
Printing is quoted by pages, copies and binding; delivery by distance and timing. Both appear as separate lines on the quote so you can see what the deadline is costing you. On a bid package they are quoted with the rest.
Mistakes it prevents
- Arriving after the closing minute: the box is closed at the stated time, and a bid one minute late is returned unopened
- An envelope not marked as the tender instructs, which some entities reject at the box
- Copies that differ from the original
- No proof of delivery when a bid is later said to have been received late
How it fits the rest of Tendakazi
Delivery is the last stage of the bid pipeline. The closing time on your bid is the deadline the courier is timed against, in Nairobi time; the receipt closes the bid as submitted; and a tender opening read-out can be attended for you under site representation.
Questions
Can you deliver outside Nairobi?
Yes, to tender boxes across Kenya. Distance and timing are on the quote.
What proof do I get?
A photograph at the box and the procuring entity's stamped receipt, both attached to your bid.
What if the tender box has moved?
Couriers call ahead and we confirm the location on the day; the person you name is contacted if anything changes.
Can you print from my own files?
Yes. Upload print-ready files and the submission instructions; we print, bind and deliver.
Have the bid in the box before it closes.
